A NetterVibration customer in the construction industry needed to test the tolerance and stability of a type of wooden beam when driven into the sand near the shore so as to prevent beach erosion caused by sediment washing out to sea. At this location the beam would be constantly impacted by waves thereby causing material fatigue.
The customer purchased a Netter NTK 25 pneumatic linear vibrator, which was able to simulate the long-term effects of the impacts on the beam within a short period of time. It was also possible to regulate the force of the simulated waves. As a result, engineers were able to determine the stability of the beam and project its durability.
