Two operating principles in one device: high-frequency impact and vibration combined

18.08.2026

When bulk materials adhere to surfaces, form bridges or rat-holes or do not discharge evenly, reliable material flow can become a challenge. Depending on the material and application, different methods may be required to loosen build-up and support the discharge process.

Impactors and vibrators use fundamentally different operating principles. Impactors generate short, targeted impulses that can effectively loosen material adhering to walls and surfaces. Vibrators, on the other hand, generate continuous vibrations that support material flow and can prevent build-up from occurring in the first place.

With the NHK high-frequency impactors, NetterVibration combines these two operating principles in a single device. The NHK can be operated either as a high-frequency impactor or as a linear vibrator. This makes it possible to adapt the operating principle to the specific requirements of the application without having to install two separate devices.

In impact mode, the NHK generates high-frequency rebound impacts of up to 75 impacts per second. These rapid impulses are particularly suitable for loosening material build-up and supporting the discharge of difficult bulk materials. In vibration mode, the device generates linear vibrations that can be used to promote material flow, support discharge and assist processes such as compacting.

The combination of both operating principles opens up additional possibilities for process optimisation. Applications in which a conventional impactor and vibrator would previously have been used together can potentially be addressed with a single NHK device. This can simplify the design of the installation while providing greater flexibility in adapting the operating mode to changing process requirements.

The NHK series is therefore particularly interesting wherever bulk materials behave differently depending on the process conditions or where several vibration-related tasks need to be solved within one application. Typical applications include material discharge, removing build-up, compacting and knock-out processes.

The NHK is not intended to replace conventional impactors or vibrators in every application. Rather, its particular strength lies in combining two proven operating principles in one compact solution and making the appropriate principle available depending on the task at hand.
