Removing Amino Acid Build-Up: Combining Impact and Vibration in a Single Device

In a chemical plant, specialised amino acids are processed in reactor vessels with a wall thickness of 5 mm. The material places particular demands on the discharge process: it adheres to the vessel walls while also requiring the most uniform possible discharge from the reactor.

  • Build-up on the walls impedes complete material discharge.
  • A purely vibration-assisted solution does not sufficiently release critical build-up.
  • A purely impact-based system does not provide sufficient support for continuous material flow.
Our solution

To release build-up and support material discharge, an NHK high-frequency impactor is used. The key feature: the NHK combines impact and vibration effects in a single device.

Depending on the settings, the pneumatically operated NHK generates high-frequency rebounding impacts, linear vibrations, or a combination of both effects. This allows build-up to be released in a targeted manner while simultaneously supporting material movement within the reactor.

Our advantages
  • Amino acid build-up is effectively released, ensuring uniform material discharge.
  • Impact and vibration effects combined in a single device
  • The process can be operated reliably and reproducibly
